2 - 4 December 2020Â |Â Virtual Event via Hopin
Despite the COVID crisis, 2020 has been a year of unexpected growth and focus on climate action, as countries grapple with the concept of a green economic recovery. The Paris Agreement is moving into operation and the decade ahead will be the most critical yet. The innovation and behaviour shifts we're experiencing under Paris and the pandemic, bode well for a stronger and more ambitious response to the intensifying climate crisis. Australia, our regional allies, and the global economy must look towards a #netzero2050 future.
WELCOME TO THE 2020 VIRTUAL SUMMIT
Despite the COVID crisis, 2020 has been a year of unexpected growth and focus on climate action, as countries grapple with the concept of a green economic recovery, even as the Paris Agreement begins operation and the global community moves inexorably towards net-zero.
Under Paris and the pandemic, we are entering a new era of economic and social cooperation to tackle multiple economic, environmental and social crises. The innovation and behavioural shifts bode well for a longer-term response to the intensifying climate crisis, and many in the Australian business community as well as governments in our states and neighbouring nations are targeting net-zero emissions by 2050, seeking to manage the risks and catalyse opportunities in that transition. A variety of carbon markets are emerging globally hopefully to be boosted by progress on a rulebook for the Paris Agreement’s “Article 6” carbon market provisions at COP25.
Hosted by the Carbon Market Institute, the 2020 virtual Summit will be a high profile platform to connect with customers, business peers and opinion makers; establish a presence in emerging national and international markets; and be at the forefront of this must-attend event’s knowledge exchange, commercial interaction and capacity building program.

Held across three (partial) days, the Carbon Market Institute's 7th Australasian Emissions Reduction Summit will be held virtually from 2-4 December 2020. This virtual event will host over 600 business leaders and professionals, sub-national and national government leaders, and those from finance, technology, R&D and professional/legal services.
Using our smartphone app and virtual event platform Hopin, delegates will find themselves immersed in knowledge sharing, commercial interactions and capacity building - giving you everything you need to access the intelligence and relationships you'll need to manage the emerging risks and opportunities ahead.
